5th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2019 was celebrated at District and constituency level in Haryana. To promote Ayurved and Yoga in the State the bill to upgrade Shri Krishna Govt. Ayurvedic College, Kurukshetra to an AYUSH University has been passed in the last Vidhan Sabha Session. Assent of Hon’ble President of India has been received to State Government. Shri Krishna AYUSH University Act, 2016 (Haryana Act No. 25 of 2017) has been published in the Haryana Government Gazette vide their letter dated 25th September 2017. H.E. the Governor of Haryana has appointed the Vice Chancellor and Registrar of AYUSH University. The Gram Panchayat Fathuhpur has provided 94 Acre 05Kanal 01Marla land for the AYUH University on lease basis. The possession of the land has been taken.The administrative approval for the construction of boundary wall has been issued by Govt. Hon’ble Prime Minister has laid down the foundation stone on 12.02.2019.  The work of boundary wall has been started.

                        To promote Ayurvedic education in the state another Govt. Ayurvedic College has been constructed at Village Pattikara (Narnaul). Hon’ble CM, Haryana has inaugurated the building of Govt. Ayurvedic College/Hospital at Village Pattikara (Narnaul) The manpower of the hospital has been sanctioned. State Drug Testing Laboratory and  State Ayurvedic Pharmacy have been setup in the campus of Shri Krishna Govt. Ayurvedic College, Kurukshetra. New Ayurvedic Dispensaries have been opened at village Anandpur district Sonepat, Viilage Durkhadda & Adhoi District Ambala, village Nangal Nunia district Narnaul, village Nimali District Ch. Dadri and Village Kisranti District. Rohtak. For the Establishment of “Post Graduate Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy Education and   Research” at Deverkhana(Jhajjar) 83 Kanal land has been provided to Govt. of India.

                        There is a proposal for opening of new Govt. Unani College at Village Akera, Nuh (Mewat). The Govt. has approved the proposal of department in principle. Hon’ble Chief Minister has already laid the foundation stone of Govt. Unani College & Hospital, village Akera, district Nuh on 14.07.2018. Land is transferred in the name of AYUSH Department, Haryana by Gram Panchayat, Vill. Akera, Nuh. Administrative of Rs. 45.43 Crore has been issued by the Govt. The work of construction has been started.    

                        Govt. of India has decided to set up a National Level Institute for Ayurvedic treatment, education and research with 250 beds IPD (100 Ayurveda & 150 Naturopathy) and catering to over 500 students every year offering UG, PG, Ph.D degree.Government of Haryana as well as Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board have provided 19.87 Acres of land of Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board, Panchkula on lease to the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, New Delhi. Hon’ble Prime Minister has laid down the foundation stone on 12.02.2019. There is a proposal of Govt. of India to establish National Research Institute in Unani Medicine for NCDs with 120 beds IPD in NCR in the State of Haryana. Govt. of Haryana has sent a proposal to the Secretary Govt. of India, Ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi vide letter dated 01.09.2017 to offer the land measuring 68 Kanal 17 Marla (Approx. 9 Acres) of Gram Panchayat Kheri Gujran district Faridabad within the NCR to set up National Research Institute in Unani Medicine for NCDs. with 120 beds IPD and land has been transferred to CCRUM, Ministry of AYUSH , New Delhi on 19.03.2019. There is a proposal to setup 50 bedded integrated Govt. AYUSH Hosiptal at Mayyer, Hisar. Hon’ble CM, Haryana has agreed to setup the 50 bedded integrated Govt. AYUSH Hosiptal at Mayyer, Hisar. Land of 15 Acre and 7 Marla has been identified and has been transferred for a period of 33 years at the rate of Rs. 1/- per acre per year in the name of AYUSH Department, Haryana. The administrative approval has been issued.

                        Government has approved the proposal for opening/setting up of New Government Homoeopathic College in district Ambala Cantt.             

Under Ayushman Bharat, 12500 AYUSH Health & Wellness Centres are to be established in India by Ministry of AYUSH and as per their guidelines, all existing Ayurvedic Dispensaries are to be established as AYUSH Health & Wellness Centre and some AYUSH Health &  Wellness Centre Clusters are also to be established with inclusion of nearby Health Sub Centres. As this scheme is to be launched from Haryana State, Department of AYUSH has proposed to establish all 472 Govt. Ayurvedic Dispensaries as AYUSH Health & Wellness Centre, out of which 69 AYUSH Health & Wellness Centre cluster in four districts namely Faridabad, Jhajjar, Palwal and Sonepat (69 GADs and 138 Health Sub Centres).

An expenditure of Rs. 117.48 crore under plan (Recurring/Non Plan) schemes and Rs. 44.93 crore under Plan (Non Recurring/Plan) schemes for AYUSH Department has been incurred during the year 2018-19. During 2019-20, Rs. 198.43 crore under Plan (Non Recurring/Plan) schemes and Rs. 138.77 crore under Plan (Recurring/Non-plan) schemes have been approved for AYUSH Department. An outlay of Rs. 413.84 crore for Plan (Non Recurring/Plan) schemes and    Rs. 164.08 crore for Plan (Recurring/Non-plan) schemes has been proposed for the financial year 2020-21.
